You wll receive 8 days of training in January to allow you to prepare tax returns for low-income tax payers. Training is at the Livermore Civic Library. After training you will be expected to volunteer preparing tax returns for at least one day per week beginning in February and ending by mid-April. You will be assigned a volunteer working assignment in the Alameda Tri-valley area.

Mission Statement
AARP Tax-Aide is a nation-wide, volunteer-run program that provides free tax assistance, preparation and e-filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Through IRS certified volunteers, Tax-Aide will assist in the preparation and filing Federal Form 1040 and California State Form 540 plus certain other required schedules and forms.
Description
This program prepares free State and Federal income tax returns for low income tax payers. Returns are prepared by program-trained volunteers.
