Volunteers are needed to help our After-School Homework Program for the disadvantaged children in our community (Grades K-7). We need caring and dedicated individuals to prepare snacks/meals for the children during their homework time. Children usually begin their homework by 3PM, and their snack time is scheduled between 3:45-4PM.

We need an experienced food-handler who understands food safety practices, and the fundamentals and basics of food preparation and nutrition. Ideally we would like a volunteer who fits the following requirements:

  • 18 years and older
  • Ability to prepare a meal for 30-40 school-aged children
  • Prepare snack, serve snack, and clean-up afterwards; including washing and storing of utensils and trays that are used.
  • Adhere to Food Safety regulations (i.e. good personal hygiene at all times while on duty)
  • Serve-Safe Certification a plus
  • Interview Required
  • Completed Volunteer Application

The After School Program runs from Monday-Friday, but the volunteer is not required to be present each day of the week if he/she is not available.
