Volunteers will prepare books which are to be recorded for use by people who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print-impaired. Volunteers will use a specialized computer program to create digital "bookmarks." These "bookmarks" help listeners easily navigate through pages and chapters of a recorded book.

The Communication Center of State Services for the Blind provides reading materials in alternate formats for persons who are visually or physically-impaired to provide them with the tools necessary to live a full life and achieve personal independence through access to information.

Description

State Services for the Blind is a division of the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). We provide vocational rehabilitation, promote independent living, create accessible media, and offer many other services for people who are blind or visually impaired.
