Volunteers will convert standard print books into a special electronic format to make them accessible to readers who are visually impaired or have another print disability. Duties involve scanning books, using an optical character recognition software program, and editing Word documents. After initial training, e-text volunteering can be done at home. Volunteers should have good keyboard skills; experience with editing and/or layout would be helpful . A love of reading and familiarity with different types of books is a plus.
