ORGANIZATION: Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY

The holidays can be very lonely for senior citizens who live alone without family and friends nearby. Many seniors are in nursing homes and have very few visitors. You can make this time a little brighter by being "Santa" for a senior citizen by organizing a holiday gift drive at your work or church. We can provide you with a list of a specific items requested by individual seniors, or a list of generic items that would be suitable for all seniors. Individuals can provide a gift for one senior, or this could be a group project. We collect the items from you and our staff will deliver to their clients.

To foster and support seniors who seek to stay in their homes as long as possible through the provision of essential home-based services.

Description

Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY provides Meals-On-Wheels, medical and specialized transportation, and independent living assistance services to seniors and disabled individuals in Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Our programs also include Pet Portions, which provides free food to our clients cats and dogs, and PetKare, which provides clients with vouchers to be used at local select veterinary facilities for their pet's care. Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY also partners with more than 60 WesleyLinks churches to help seniors in their congregations secure information and services that will help them stay in their homes as long as possible.
