ORGANIZATION: National MS Society, Greater Illinois

The largest MS fundraiser in the country is the Walk MS event happening at 11 communities throughout Illinois. This event raises funds for important research and services for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter.

As we prepare for the Walk MS event, we are in need of volunteers to assist with setting up the site on the day before. Tasks include putting signs and banners, moving chairs and tables, putting supplies in different tent areas and assisting staff to ensure a smooth event.

Volunteers must be able to stand, move and lift items for a good amount of time.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. In Greater Illinois we have many different opportunities throughout the year in which you can volunteer such as:

The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
