About Ombudman:
Individuals residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, basic care homes, or hospital swing bed, transitional and sub-acute settings may have concerns about their care. Ombudman are intended to help resolve concerns.
Someone who helps long term care residents by providing them with information about their rights and community resources.
Someone who listens to residents' concerns, helps protect resident's rights, and assures that residents receive fair treatment.
Make regular weekly visits to an assigned facility to listen to residents concerns.
Help prtect resident's rights by encoraging residents to advocate for themselves.
Seeking to resolve porblems within a facility by workng with the ataff.
Attend regular in-service and volunteer support meetings.

RSVP+/ServeYES! offers maximum flexibility and choices to our volunteers. We match your personal interests and skills with opportunities to help solve community problems. RSVP+/ServeYES! also offers supplemental insurance while serving and a pre-service orientation. In addition, the organizations where volunteers are placed offer on-site training as needed.
