Catholic Charities’ Youth Mentorship Program pairs youth ages 9-12 from Waukegan with volunteer mentors who can provide support during times of need. The program is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who can assist with marketing, recruitment, and event planning. The volunteer will help program staff connect and follow up with churches, schools, and other community-based organizations that can serve as referral sources for eligible mentors and mentees. The ideal volunteer is familiar with Waukegan and the surrounding areas, and could assist with creating a monthly activity calendar that provides innovative suggestions for free or low-cost enrichment activities that would be appropriate for mentor/mentee outings. Volunteer would also be encouraged to help plan and attend quarterly activities for all program participants.
