Purpose: Assist the American Red Cross National Headquarter's Disaster Operations Coordination Center

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect data from the field on threats, events or incidents through incoming phone calls, monitioring email inbox and media.
  • Catalog data, coordinate with points of contact to provide resources and support for response.
  • Prepare data for aggregation and reporting in order to distribute
  • Work on special projects

Qualifications:
  • Customer service skills: face to face and phone
  • Verbal and written skills are critical
  • Ability to capture situational awareness data points
  • Technical capabilities, comfortable with computer systems
  • Data gatherer, comfortable asking questions
  • Independent worker
  • Operates with integrity, trust, ethics and value
Time Commitment:

4:00 pm-12:00 midnight (8 hour shift) weekdays



8:00-5:00pm Weekends

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Description

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross provides assistance with shaping and leading the organization in our mission and strategic plan. National Headquarters also assists with technical guidance to the many Red Cross units, such as Chapters, Armed Forces Emergency Services Stations and Blood Services regions. These units are responsible for the direct service to the community including disaster response and preparedness, messaging to Armed Forces military and their families, collecting and delivering blood products, teaching health and safety skills and helping reunite families through our international services.
