What is VITA? VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and is a program to help low to moderate income residents in our community with their income tax preparation. Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties is recruiting volunteer Greeters for the upcoming tax season which is in full swing. We desperately need greeters to welcome taxpayers to the tax site. This includes opening doors for taxpayers, asking if they have necessary paperwork to complete tax returns and then directing them to the tax prep room.
There is a short, commmon sense, standards of conduct test required as well as an application and background check. Last year we helped aid in the return of over $6 million to over 5000 residents in our community!
If you want to be a VITA volunteer and help those in need; sign up on our easy online application. Go to www.communityactionatwork.org and click the "I WANT TO BE A VITA VOLUNTEER" button to apply. If you have any questions regarding being a VITA volunteer please contact Georgann Roth either by email: groth@communityactionatwork.org or by phone (402)875-9320. Thank you for your support!
