A local lady with a very active lifestyle needs a buddy to go out for activities in the neighborhood. She recently moved from Manchester to Newington and she would like to get a guide dog. Before she can do that, she needs to practice the routes she is learning around her community.

This active lady loves to chat, go for walks, shopping or out for lunch. If have time to catch a coffee or a hamburger, go for a walk or visit the library this match is for you. What would be useful is someone who can read the labels in the store, sorting mail and just having a good time and who would love her labrador when she gets her.

Requirements to be a great volunteer include: a desire to help others; a pleasant demeanor; a good reading/speaking voice; average reading skills; organizational or planning abilities; a good driving record; a clear criminal history; two references access to a car with proof of insurance; a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage. If you are in Newington and this is not the right a placement for you there are others in surrounding communities who are waiting to meet you. Volunteers will be matched within three to five miles of home or work.
