Training Dates: January 24 & 25 (Training is mandatory)

Training Location: Pasadena, CA

Application Deadline: ASAP!

"Every time I come to camp I learn a new life lesson, and that life lesson is always taught to me through the heart of a camper. I have never had any experience that comes close to what I experience every time I come to camp. It’s amazing and life changing and I always come away with more than I could ever give." - Jody (7 camps)

Camp Laurel is located in beautiful Big Bear, California. Our programs enable children living with HIV/AIDS to experience the magic and wonders of childhood free from the stresses of their daily lives. Through love, compassion and hope, Camp Laurel teaches children to understand that each one of them has the ability to make his or her life as full and rich as the next child’s regardless of this illness.

Serving as a Camp Laurel Camp Counselor is a rewarding and challenging experience, one that many volunteers return to year after year. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, be comfortable working with adults and children with HIV/AIDS, have good judgment and lots of energy. Experience with resident camps and HIV/AIDS is helpful but is not necessary.

"Camp is a time to forget about the worries in our own lives and make a child smile! It is a time to just be silly and send out some good love and get some back!"- Lorenzo (30 camps)
