VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Title:

Volunteer Administrative Support and Receptionist

Reports to:

Lisa Dempewolf - Office Manager & Reporting Specialist

Goal of Position:

The position of Volunteer Administrative Support and Receptionist supports The Sophia Way’s mission of assisting homeless women to independence through providing administrative relief to office staff. This particular volunteer position also represents the organization to the clients, donors and all other office visitors as well as those who call the Sophia Way for program information.

Duties:

• Answer phone and direct calls
• Answer questions about the organization and basic office procedures
• Greet guests and notifies the appropriate office team member of appointment arrivals
• Check the Volunteer Tasks folder at the start of each volunteer shift
• Accept and record small donations
• Write donation thank-you’s
• Filing
• Other office duties as assigned

Scope:

Hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm, though hours within this time frame are flexible. A 6 month commitment of at least one day a week is preferred. "On-call" opportunities are also available.

Requirements:

Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving capability, dependability, ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic knowledge of computers, particularly Microsoft Office programs and Donor Perfect, a plus.

Support:

Training for this position will be provided by the Volunteer Coordinator. In addition, the Executive Director may be available for questions and assistance.
