The DC Public Schools (DCPS) Competitive Employment Opportunities (CEO) Program is an innovative career focused mentoring program that connects high school students with various disabilities to DC area mentors who work in a variety of occupations. CEO Program mentors expose students to the world of competitive employment through bimonthly career-focused project sessions and paid part-time summer internships. The CEO Program is currently looking for additional DC area professionals to serve as career mentors for the 2015/16 program year. Description
The DC Public Schools Competitive Employment Opportunities Program (CEO Program) provides high school age students with disabilities the opportunity to connect with professional mentors who work in a range of competitive occupations. CEO Program mentors expose students to the world of competitive employment and help guide students through the career exploration process. Program coursework includes paid weekly professional development classes, guided correspondence with mentors and career focused projects. Upon completion of the school year, mentors assist participants in securing summer internships at their place of employment.
