Mission Statement
To serve the needs of our neighbor in the spirit of Christ’s love.
Description
Mountain View Community Center (MVCC) opened its 10,000+ square foot facility, debt free, in November 2008 thanks primarily to the inspiration and calling of our next door neighbor, the congregation of Mt. View Lutheran Church. The Church has been the center of the greater Edgewood area for over 100 years. In 2006, the congregation at Mt. View Lutheran Church saw the need for a secular community center to house an expanded food bank and provide community meeting space, educational opportunities and health services to both youth and adults. Mountain View Community Center is a great place for children to learn, play and grow. We are a dedicated team of paid and volunteer staff who are excited about making a difference in this community. Kids’ Club (our after school program) provides safe after-school programming for student’s grades one to six. Kids’ Club has been revamped for the 2013-14 school year to provide quality after school programming from 3-6p.m. Five days a week at our Edgewood campus. Kids’ Club at Mountain View Community Center doesn’t just focus on helping children succeed today, but strives to provide a curriculum that equips them for the future.
