If you are up for a meaningful assignment, we would love to hear from you. We match select volunteers with individuals living independently and often alone in the community. We call it "neighbor helping neighbor."
Your assignment might include grabbing a cup of coffee, helping with grocery shopping or just visiting. Some volunteers read aloud to the person they visit. Expect laughter, stories and shared experiences with a new friend.
If you enjoy people and want to make an impact in the someone's life, this might be the role for you. Visits can be tailored to your busy schedule and typically occur weekly or biweekly.
For those needing even more flexibility, a volunteer may choose to make assurance calls to lonely elders once or twice weekly.

Community Caregivers Neighbors Helping Neighbors The mission of Community Caregivers, Inc. is to enable individuals of all ages to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life within their homes and communities.
Description
Community Caregivers serves many communities in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. There is no charge for our services.
We are recruiting volunteers who would like to have a rewarding experience. You can drive someone to an appointment, lend a hand to a family facing a medical crisis, grocery shop, help with light household chores, be a friendly visitor or telephone assurance caller.
You can volunteer from one hour a month to twice a week or anything in between. Our volunteers usually serve weekdays, but select opportunities are available evenings or weekends. You select the service level that's right for you and your schedule. We offer orientation, support and volunteer learning opportunities.
