TAILS collects donated items (household, dishes, furniture, etc) and turns them into animal-saving dollars...and we need help! TAILS picks up the donated items in our extended cargo van and takes them to consign or sell through one of our tag sales. Although not glamorous - this program raises a good chunk of dollars which we put towards spaying and neutering local dogs and cats! Your help would be greatly, greatly appreciated! (Whether it's one time a month for a couple of hours or six months - or an ad hoc ("call me when you need me and we'll compare calendars" type thing) basis - we would love your help! Please sign up here (and you will see all of our other volunteer opportunites and can sign up for those, too, if they look appealing: https//tailsct.z2systems.com/projectlist.jsp
Thank you!

Mission Statement
The mission of T.A.I.L.S. is to serve the community as a charitable organization that promotes spay/neutering of animals and provides financial support to humane organizations and individuals in pursuit of this goal. We are dedicated to vigorously promoting and educating the community about the importance of spay/neuter to reduce, and eventually elimnate, the killing of unwanted dogs, cats, and other animals.
Description
TAILS is an all-volunteer, stand-alone, spay/neuter organization based in Fairfield County. Put simply, TAILS funds and promotes spaying and neutering to save dogs and cats from being born into a world where there already aren't enough homes.
Formed in 2001, TAILS has grown each year thanks to the many volunteers who have come out and made our events successful. A tax exempt, 501(c)3 we welcome anyone who cares about our furry friends to come out and help us make a difference!
In November 2014, we took over the cat adoption space at the Petco-Norwalk location at 650 Main Ave (next to WalMart and Staples) and in 2017 we moved into the Westport Petco adoption space as well. Our primary focus is still spaying and neutering... .However, we are not a shelter so rely on our Petco adoption space and foster homes to help save cats we come across during our work on the streets. We desperately need help with fostering cats/kittens and help with our daily cat caretaking at both Petco stores we are in.
For a snapshot of our work (and how busy we are), in 2022 we spay/neutered approximately 650 dogs and cats and adopted 222 cats into loving homes.
We cannot do it without the help of our community. We are all volunteers ourselves - trying to help make our neighborhoods better for our furry friends. Can you help?
Thank you.
