Volunteers are needed to be character actors;or for behind the scenes mechanics and security for the "School of Screams" haunted Halloween event which will take place in a former school building and grounds - now the Hamlin Town Hall on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th from 7:00 pm until 9:30 pm. Additional set-up and take-down volunteers are also needed. Over 500 people from Hamlin and the surrounding communities attend this event annually. Recreation is an essential part of every persons physical and emotional well-being. It also plays a vital part in the quality of life in a community. In keeping with this philosophy, The Town of Hamlin acknowledges the importance of recreation as a function of town government and the importance of its role in providing leisure opportunities.
The Town of Hamlin Recreation Department believes in the philosophy of offering quality recreational and educational activities to the Hamlin Community at an affordable and reasonable cost. Recreation and leisure activities are continually changing with changing lifestyles.
