2015 TAF Summer Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is open to current 11th-12th graders and adults who wish to gain meaningful experience in child care and youth education. Support our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) instructors during our week-long school break camps in April and summer. Be a role model, share what you have learned, and help make the camp experience a special one for our young campers. CITs will experience the responsibilities of a camp instructor as well as gain hands on skills and a better understanding of summer camp operations. Bonus! You can earn community service hours for graduation requirements (up to 30 hours per week).
The Camp @ TAF summer day camps run weekly, starting June 23rd and ending August 22nd. We are now accepting summer camp applications. A sessions schedule and camp descriptions can be found at http://camp.techaccess.org. The deadline to apply is May 27th 2015.
The Counselor-in-Training program requires a minimum commitment of one week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4pm (lunch breaks provided). A mandatory orientation session, which will include training, will be held on Saturday, June 14. Please submit a letter of interest to Volunteer Coordinator-Lynda Joko at: lyndaj@techaccess.org / (206) 725-9095, ext. 101
