INSPIRE Mentors at Busch Middle School will be matched with a middle school student and partner with his/her parents and teachers, working together on behalf of that student.
INSPIRE Goal:
The goal of each INSPIRE Team is to help the student to realize his/her unique potential through academic goal-setting, character development and improved literacy that will ultimately help them thrive and excel. In short, to INSPIRE them. As an INSPIRE Mentor, your overall commitment is for at least one academic year with the same student. Each mentor commits to a weekly meeting with their student, a weekly 5 minute phone conversation with the parent and communication with the teachers where needed. Each mentor and student selects one day on which to meet weekly.
The mentoring schedule changes based on the UrbanFUTURE school site. Mentoring at Busch Middle School is done between the hours of 4:15 to 5:15.

Description
UrbanFUTURE's programs, One on One INSPIRE^TM and IMPACT Tutoring address the needs of urban youth by strengthening the whole person: encompassing academics, character, positive relationships, and teamwork. We run a distinctive mentoring program that includes assistance with schoolwork, a comprehensive character development curriculum, as well as experiential and professional development partnerships.
