Do you like making art? Want to volunteer with kids and families? Then volunteer with Free Arts NYC and introduce underserved New Yorkers to a unique combination of arts and mentoring that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.
Parents and Children Together with Art (PACT) is an 8 week art making experience for families that encourages parent-child interaction as they collaborate and problem solve together.
Led by a professional facilitator, every session begins with an inspiration image and discussion of the week’s project. Volunteers create regular opportunities for children and families to express themselves creatively, and to engage with a carefully chosen volunteer team who serve as positive, strong role models.
PACT Commitment: 2.5 hours, one weekday afternoon or evening per week for 8 weeks (Feb-May 2015)
Interested? All volunteers must attend a New Volunteer Orientation. See upcoming orientation dates and register here.
