StandUp for Kids Denver provides street outreach and advocacy for homeless and at risk youth. We go into the street the same time, same day and same route in an attempt to find and help homeless youth, Outreach volunteers must be able to walk and carry supplies. All volunteers are cleared and trained and no one goes into the street alone. We work with small teams and divide those teams to expand our area and reach more youth.
Volunteers must be able to meet our youth where they are and provide a listening ear. We ask that anyone working directly with youth, make a one year commitment of once a week.

Description
StandUp For Kids - Denver was established in 1991 and has served our youth in various ways since then.At the core of what we do is true friendship...we meet these kids "where they are and wherever they are" and we do it consistently and they know that we will always be there for them. We are able to refer them to the many services here locally when they are interested and in need but even when they are not, we're here for them. Often times it is a loving, non judgmental consistent adult presence in their lives that is missing and we try to provide that to them.
