This is a federal program that promotes the school readiness of pre-school children from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social and emotional development . Volunteers assist the teachers to achieve these goals by:
- Reading books to small groups of children
- Have "private time with individual children. Devote allyour time to one child for 10-15 minutes; read a story or work a puzze
- Supervise children during outside play
- Sit and eat with children and assist them as needed.
Ask the teacher for specific things to do with particular children

RSVP is a gateway for volunteerism in the community. RSVP provides many free benefits including free volunteer insurance, learning opportunities, and volunteer recognition.
