Like to shop? Want to make a difference? Maybe start a new tradition?

Help blind or visually-impaired adults run a few errands, pick up a couple of things and enjoy some retail therapy. You will partner one-on-one with a client. You provide sighted guide assistance and help clients with errands, by describing and finding solutions.

This is flexible, fun volunteering! All training is provided, and staff are on hand to support you. Volunteer with a friend, or volunteer with a group from your company, school or church. We try to schedule a Shopping Day every three months, and can work with you to select a date and location.

Our December Shopping Day will be at Mall of America in Bloomington on Monday, December 7. We will meet at the Transit Center located in the basement level on the east end of the mall. Each volunteer will partner with a participant. Volunteers help make the mall accessible---by providing physical assistance and lots of description. No experience is necessary. If you know the MOA and like shopping, we want you. This is a great way to get in the holiday mood.

Vision Loss Resources' mission is to build a community of service, skills and support for people with vision loss. By sharing your time, you are connecting clients with their community, and supporting more independent living.
