Internship Announcement: Fundraising and Special Events Intern

(Part-time, Unpaid)

The Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter is a leader in the environmental movement and brings the slogan "think global, act local" to life in the Silicon Valley.

We are seeking diligent, motivated, and outgoing individuals to assist our development and fundraising team. If accepted, you will have a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of a non-profit organization, polish your communication, event organizing and fundraising skills, while contributing to the positive change in the world.

An ideal candidate...

• Available to come to the office for 4-6 months at least 8-12 hours a week, during business hours (though some work can be done out of the office)
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential
• Excellent internet research skills and of knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently ad on a team

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and implementation of Annual Gala Party on September 21
• Prepare welcome letters for new chapter members
• Prepare follow up with donors via letters and phone
• Generate gift acknowledgements
• Update and correct database
• Assist with planning and organizing of additional fundraising events
• Other tasks as assigned
