Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Community- Based Mentoring: These are one-to-one outings and activities, doing things they enjoy together, like:
- Taking a walk in the park
- Going to a museum
- Listening to music
- Hanging out and talking
Some Bigs meet their Littles on the weekends and others get together with their Littles in the evenings during the week. All matches meet once a week for a couple hours each time. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them.
As an agency, we recommend free and low-cost outings. In addition, BBBS provides plenty of activity ideas, organizes group match activities, and directs you to local community events and local happenings to make it easy to find things to do with your Little.
We'll be with you every step of the way to help you through this process and answer any questions you have!

Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. Independent research shows that the Big Brothers Big Sisters model of professionally supported relationships between young people and their adult mentors has a direct, measurable and lasting impact. Children in our program perform better in school, are less likely to skip classes and school days, and more likely to avoid risky, unhealthy behaviors and have higher self-esteem and aspirations.

Big Brothers Big Sisters holds itself accountable to demonstrating outcomes in three critical areas for our Little Brothers and Little Sisters:
- socio-emotional competencies (e.g. higher aspirations, greater self-confidence, and better relationships)
