Mercer Botanic Gardens has five different plant committees whose main focus is to grow plants for events such as March Mart. Plant Committees include Shade Plants on Mondays, Perennials on Tuesdays, Native Plants on Wednesdays and Trees/Shrubs on Thursday. Each group spends approximately 3 - 4 hours caring for plants on their designated day.
Volunteers interested in leading the tropicals or perennial committee can contact Mercer for more information at 713-274-4160.
A Mercer volunteer application can be found at www.hcp4.net/Community/Parks/Mercer/Volunteering.
