Join Special Olympics soccer teams from Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo and Ventura as they go for the gold in the 2nd Annual Soccer Tournament at Girsh Park!
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
Set-up: 6:30am to help load at the Special Olympics office or 6:45-8:30am at Girsh
Volunteer Check-in: 8am-11:30am or 11:30am-2pm
Team Check-in:7:45am-9am
Traffic Aids: 7:45am-9am
Team Escorts: 9am-1pm
Scorekeepers/Timers: 9am-11:30am or 11am-1:30pm
Breakdown/Clean-up: 1:30pm-4pm

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
The Santa Barbara Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that allows people with developmental disabilites within the Santa Barbara community to participate in year-round athletic competition. We offer several sports that our athletes can participate in free of charge.
