This is a great opportunity to help someone prepare for and find a job! The Carmichael Library seeks a volunteer to become a Job Coach. The Job Coach assists patrons with a variety of questions dealing with job searching, resume writing, interview etiquette and other concerns that may be encountered while conducting a job search.
The qualified candidate will help the job seeker create a resume from scratch, identify the appropriate resume format to use when applying for positions (chronological, functional, hybrid), set up an email account, develop a job search strategy, apply for positions on line, and prepare for an interview. The Job Coach will introduce the job seeker to the jobs and career databases available through the Library web site.
The Job Coach will receive an orientation and training in the use of a library provided laptop and introduction to the Library's job seeker databases. The Job Coach program is offered on TUESDAY evenings from 5:30 to 7:30. Job seekers are welcomed on a drop-in basis or they may schedule an appointment ahead of time.
The ideal candidate has experience in Human Resources, staffing and recruiting or staff management.
