The Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is an agency whose mission is to enhance education, health, and well-being of children, youth, and adults in our community. One such way we do this is to offer emergency services through our Safety-Net program. Safety-Net is a bi-weekly walk-in program that provides families and individuals with an emergency supply of food, bus passes, and diapers.

Volunteers assist the Crisis Intervention manager and Intervention team in providing resources and referrals to connect families with agencies for services and goods to each person in need. We strive to "teach our families to fish" and inform and educate in order for families to transfer skills and create sustainable assistance.

Volunteers will be trained in paperwork, crisis intervention, triaging, diaper bagging, food bagging, clinical documentation and will become familiar with many services in the agency and the community.

Time commitment- minimum of 3 months;

Tuesdays from 4:00pm-6:30pm and

Thursdays 9:00am-11:00am

Mission Statement

The Folsom Cordova Community Partnership, founded in 1992, works in collaboration with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District. The mission of the Partnership is to enhance the education,health and well being of children, youth, and families in our communities.

Description

The Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is a 501(c)3 community-based non-profit. We work with the community to:

- build strong families
- meet the needs of struggling parents, to increase self sufficiency
- promote youth development through positive peer and adult relationships

We bring together resources and programming in a community resource center model to create a "one-stop shop," which encourages and supports families as they identify their own needs and reach their own goals to fight cycles of child abuse, incarceration, and poverty. We recognize that each family has strengths and encourage the family to build on these to solve their own challenges.

Founded in 1992 as the Folsom Cordova Schools Foundation, The Partnership has a 18-year history providing quality services to families with children 0-5. In 2005, with the funding of the Roots and Horizons Mentoring Children of Prisoners program, The Partnership expanded to include services for youth 6-17 into its programming. In 2008, The Partnership developed Intervention Services, to provide resource and referral, short-term case management, and emergency supplies to families in crisis. The Partnership strives to meet changing community needs through high quality assessment and program development.
