Care for the Homeless is a 501 (3) nonprofit organization that fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered healthcare, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.
We are currently looking for volunteers to facilitate at least 6 Job Readiness workshops over a 3 month period (1 class every two weeks) for the residents of Susan's Place, our transitional residence for homeless women in the Bronx. Class topics will range from resume writing, to professionalism in the workplace, to internet job searches.
Potential volunteers will have some experience with HR, management, and/or hiring procedures.

Mission Statement
Care For the Homeless fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.
Description
Care For the Homeless (CFH) serves 10,000 homeless men, women, and children annually and provides comprehensive health care at multiple sites co-located at soup kitchens, shelters, drop-in centers and street outreach programs in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Our service delivery model provides care where homeless individuals and families are receiving a variety of other services with the goal of reducing barriers to accessing high-quality health care. CFH also operates three transitional housing sites with on-site health care and is expanding shelter services in the future, ensuring a safe, supportive path to permanent housing.
In addition, CFH is committed to ending homelessness by conducting public education, research, and analysis of model programs and practices that create permanent housing opportunities, and by shaping policies to prevent future homelessness.
