Volunteer Drivers! Food Distribution Help needed!

Being a volunteer driver is a great opportunity to volunteer in a tangible fashion. Food services are integrated into every program at Grandma’s House of Hope and we need your help to make sure food can get where it needs to go!

GHH has evolved from a small emergency shelter, to a campus-model Housing Program with 124 beds. In addition, we've added a food distribution program for motel families or other unstable housing conditions.

Food resources are available, BUT we need volunteers to take care of the most challenging aspect: distribution. Read more below and sign up today!

Overview:

You will be given a pick up site (grocery store or food bank) and drop off site(s) depending on your desire and availability. Pick-ups happen up to 4x per week. We request a commitment of at least 1x per month.

Time Frame: Generally morning hours

Regularity: 1-4x/month

Time commitment per delivery: 1-2 hours

Requirements:

-Have vehicle and be willing to put boxes of food into it

-Drive safely to various sites throughout OC

-Be able to lift up to 50 pounds with no health concerns

-Commit to 1x per month up to 2x per week. 1-3 Semi-flexible, morning hours.

-Have filled out a liability and confidentiality waiver
