Fabretto Foundation is a fast-growing non-profit organization working to change and empower lives in Central America. Our mission is to enable impoverished Nicaraguan children and their families in underserved communities to break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential through programs promoting education, nutrition and health, and community development.

We are currently recruiting Fall 2015 interns for our Alexandria, VA office. The Events intern position will work with the Director of Events and must commit a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. The ideal candidate is a student or recent graduate seeking to gain practical experience in the non-profit sector. The intern will be working in the Events department on:

Events Department

The intern will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of a fundraising event and ability to apply his/her creative ideas to events. The intern will have the opportunity to do substantive work that results in direct impact on community programs in Nicaragua.
• Scheduled Fall 2015 Events
• Auction Item collection and tracking
• Various Creative Projects
• Social Media
• Fundraising

Qualified applicants will possess:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to take initiative and work independently on multiple projects
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Interest in International Affairs, International Development, Latin America or youth education.

Compensation: Unpaid; The office is located just two blocks from the King Street Metro Station (blue, yellow) and a travel stipend of $150 per month will be offered.

Approximate Hours Per Week: 15-20
