ORGANIZATION: Communities In Schools of Tacoma

Communities in Schools of Tacoma offers much-needed resources to under-served students in Tacoma including; school supplies, tutoring, online credit retrieval, health services and weekend food-packs. We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in gaining valuable experience in long-term nonprofit planning and resource development. As a volunteer, you will be able to attend monthly meetings to brainstorm on how to leverage what resources CIS has available, while seeking new sources of support. This is a great opportunity for someone with a limited amount of time who is interested in committee work, community outreach, and sustainability planning. Description

Communities In Schools is part of the 5th largest youth development organization in the country. We are the only ones proven to increase graduation rates AND decrease dropout rates.

We serve as the bridge between the student and the community, bringing in resources that help break down the barriers that students have to be successful in school.
