Newark DE Area Host a Shelter Dog Overnight

ORGANIZATION: Paws to the Rescue

  • 12 people are interested

We are a small open intake shelter that counts on our transports to save lives. We are recruiting new drivers and overnighters to help our animals get out of the shelter. Volunteers sign up to host a shelter dog overnight. It is always Satuday night. Volunteers pick up a furry friend when transport arrives in the evening, and returns the dog to transport early the next morning. Helping a shelter pet get to his forever home is one of the most rewarding volunteering experiences you can have. You must be over 18, have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and you may need crates for securing the animals. Overnighted animals must be hosted indoors, and should be kept separate from the hosts pets.

Mission Statement

Paws to the Rescue manages the Marion County Animal Shelter located in Mullins, South Carolina.
Mission Paws to the rescue is a Non-Profit animal organization that is dedicated to saving as many animals as possible from euthanasia. We believe that every animal deserves a healthy, loving home and to be treated with compassion. We do not believe that euthanasia is a legitimate form of population control. The organization encompasses many facets, including networking with other shelters and rescue organizations, coordinating volunteer transports, and currently managing the Marion County Animal Shelter in Mullins, SC. PTTR strives to reduce the number of unwanted animals by increasing public awareness of the pet overpopulation problem, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, and promoting spay/neuter programs and assistance. Our work will ultimately transform the Marion County Animal Shelter into a No-Kill facility.
Paws to the Rescue was founded in 2006.
