We work with families that have children with special needs. Our support group, SPECIAL Families of Pierce County, is looking for assistance with our monthly meetings. The Group Assistant will assist the Group Leader in meeting set up/tear down, posting flyers, social media, childcare and volunteer management, and more.
We meet on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:00pm in downtown Tacoma. Our goal is to get a minimum 3 month commitment. Many of the duties can be performed virtually, from the volunteer's home. Meeting with the Group Leader in person (in Puyallup) once a month is advised. This position requires 2-10 hours of prep/work per month, not including attending the 2-hour monthly meeting itself. Total estimated monthly time commitment is 4-12 hours.
