Have you ever seen the face of a child first grasping what it is to read? This amazing moment is clicks away from your contribution. By volunteering with the American Youth Literacy Foundation you are helping underprivileged children, under-served children, gifted children, ALL children, and also helping teens and young adults and you. The American Youth Literacy Foundation is reversing the literacy crisis in the United States and creating a literate America for the 21st century.

We are looking for academically talented and socially compassionate people who want to make a memorable and powerful contribution to children's literacy and help us transform the educational landscape in America. Should be able to take on a variety of projects and follow through to completion. Earn community service hours. Must be self motivated and willing to learn. This is a virtual opportunity and requires excellent communication skills (telephone and letter writing) and computer skills such as microsoft word and ideally excel and or powerpoint, and web skills such as search and willingness to learn your way around social media. The American Youth Literacy Foundation (Youth Lit), a Collegeville, PA-based 501 c 3 charitable non-profit is dedicated to insuring that ALL children learn how to read by the end of 5th grade and to fundamentally improving the way reading is taught in America.
