Volunteers are needed to help in the shelter, monitor the hotline, administrative help in our public office and help with community events. We also need help with projects such as picking up donated furniture and delivering it to clients. Small handy man type repairs and yardwork.

Abuse Alternatives is committed to providing quality services through direct support and advocacy to the victims of domestic violence with the goal of eliminating the pattern of abusive behaviors from the lives of those individuals and their families. It is the philosophy of Abuse Alternatives that all humans have the right to live violent free lives, free from abuse and the threats of abuse. Abuse Alternatives recognizes that violence within intimate relationships consists of use of force, or threat, to achieve and maintain control over others. We also acknowledge that physical, verbal, and sexual violence are violations of basic human rights and therefore are committed to initiate and support changes in social systems and attitudes through service and education. Abuse Alternatives, Inc is a non-profit corporation that provides services regardless of gender, race, national origin, education, age, ability, sexual orientation, class or religioius preference.
Description
Abuse Alternatives Inc is a non profit organization that provides services to victims of domestic violence. We offer a shelter, a 24 hour hotline, court advocacy, community outreach and education, and a batterers intervention program.
