Are you interested in helping reinvent our education system - implementing a new Model for Learning that inspires high school students AND teachers to become life learners, prepared to succeed in college, careers and life? If the answer is yes, we have just the volunteer opportunity for you!
GCE is seeking candidates for board membership.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about education and who have the skills to help expand our innovative high school Model into the public and private sectors, locally in Chicago as well as nationally and globally. We have ambitious plans to impact 40,000 students and teachers in the next 5 years and 4 million over the next 10 years. Skills required include: fundraising, PR & marketing, finance, product and organizational development, technology/systems, and for profit & not-for-profit growth management.

Description
GCE is composed of GCE High School and the GCE Educator Institute.
GCE High School, founded in 2010, serves as a lab for designing, testing and refining our curriculum and instructional methods. 100% of our graduating class of 2013 are going to college or a post grad program of their choosing; 71% earned merit aid for college; and 100% of these students were underachieving at their previous schools. We are committed to creating a lab school that represents a global classroom: more than 50% of GCE students receive scholarship support.
GCE Educator Institute is the vehicle for introducing and implementing this new Model for Learning in classrooms, schools and school districts across the country and around the world. We provide a range of services from professional development disruptions/interventions, civic licensing of curriculum, advisory services, to full-scale implementation and management of the GCE Model across a new charter school.
