Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are needed to work with children who are dependents of the Marin County Court as a result of having been abused or neglected. CASA volunteers are sworn officers of the court, appointed by a judge to investigate and report on the best interests of children.
Volunteers, who must be at least 21 years of age, undergo a thorough background and screening process and complete approximately 36 hours of initial training. This is a unique opportunity to work with dedicated professionals and to help give children a powerful voice in court.
Screening interviews are being held now in preparation for our upcoming training beginning in October 2014. Please contact Robyn Roberts at robyn@marinadvocates.org for more information.

Mission Statement
Marin Advocates for Children (MAC)
is the independent voice for victims of child abuse
and neglect, and the leading non-profit agency for the prevention of child abuse in the community. MAC's mission is two-fold: preventing abuse and advocating for the best interests of children.
Description
MAC has two programs: Marin Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Marin Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC). With our two programs, MAC not only advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children, but also works to prevent child abuse through community education and provides a "safety net" for children and families by reducing the isolation that is so often the cause of abuse and neglect.
