Some of the most caring and compassionate volunteers are those who have walked with loved ones through a serious illness. As a companion for our hospice patients, you will serve the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our patients and their families. Some typical duties might include watching tv, playing games, yardwork, sharing music, scrapbooking, light housekeeping or meal preparation. You might provide a few hours of respite care for a family member who needs to run errands or shop for medical supplies.
Our training program has been designed to give you insight into the philosophy and scope of AseraCare services as well as the basic tools needed for you to begin providing companionship and care to our patients and their families. We provide all necessary training and screenings required, at no cost to our volunteers. Reliable transportation is desired. We also offer flexible scheduling and assignments based on your location.
