At our event on Saturday, August 1, foster children do fun activities all day long while their foster parents are attending training they need to maintain their foster parent licensure. The kids are broken out into age-appropriate rooms, and groups of 15-20 children rotate from activity to activity. Child care workers supervise the kids all day, but volunteers add lots of energy by coming in to do fun activities with the kids.

Would you be willing to play outdoor games or playdoh and board games with the kids between 9:00am-noon at our event? We'll provide the supplies and instructions, we just need you!

All volunteers MUST be 21 years or older and have a clean criminal background.

Feel free to contact Shelley via this posting, at shelleythomasbenke@foster-adopt.org or 314-367-8373 to learn more or to sign up!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create permanency in every foster child's life by recruiting and supporting foster/adoptive homes in the St. Louis metropolitan community.

Description

The Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition is a non-profit agency, founded in 1985 with the support of the United Way of Greater St. Louis. Our mission is to create permanency in every foster child's life by recruiting and supporting foster/adoptive homes in the St. Louis metropolitan community.

Our vision is for a community that embraces its most vulnerable members, ensuring that each child in foster care has an opportunity for a healthy, successful life by providing safe, nurturing homes, and a support system for foster and adoptive families as they fulfill the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the children in their care.

Our services are: 1) unique and needed in our community; 2) based on best practice and research; and 3) constantly measured for effectiveness. To leverage the maximum number of services for our families, we continually seek to develop collaborations with community partners.
