ORGANIZATION: Crowder District Park

Do you love nature as much as we do? We need an extra pair of hands to help our staff prepare for environmental education programs and assist during our classes! All we need is your passion for the environment and an eagerness to help out your local park.

  • Responsibilities: Volunteers will assist with the public programs of the park. This includes prep work i.e. preparing crafts, administration details, filing, and organization assistance. For larger programs, volunteers may be called upon to assist during the class.
  • Qualifications/skills: Passion for environmental education, pleasant demeanor with visitors, strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills. Knowledge in subject area is a plus.
  • Supervision: Park Technician of Public Programs at Crowder
  • Training: Appropriate training for specific work area
  • Time Commitment: Flexible and as needed

Located on 33 acres of landscaped grounds and hardwood forests, Crowder District Park offers citizens a variety of recreational and educational opportunities. Enjoy an afternoon walk or a picnic by the pond. Park amenities include three playgrounds, three picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, play field, walking trails, restrooms, an outdoor amphitheater and a 3-acre pond with a boardwalk and an observation deck.
