About Peace in the Park
Peace in the Park is a free annual festival that promotes peace and wellbeing within the community in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. In its fourth year, the festival unites world-renowned peace leaders, yogis, wellness scientists and researchers, meditation and mindfulness teachers with celebrated performers and artists to share the art and science of well-being with the community in a fun, festive, family-friendly environment. With a goal of facilitating positive change on both global and personal levels, and empowering youth with tools, tips and techniques to cultivate emotional resilience, Peace in the Park hopes to raise awareness and encourage the community to engage in this movement.
Since 2013, the festival's attendance has doubled in size each year and has spread to three other cities.
Position Summary
Lead and support all the marketing efforts for Peace in the Park with primary goal to reach 10,000 visitors for the festival - held 9/17
Timing for support: July 17 - Sept 17, 2016 for 10-15 hours/week.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead creative briefings for posters, websites, social media, radio and manage through to completion.
* Responsible for creative ideation, content and directing monthly and weekly emails that are sent to the database.
* Work with partners and develop assets / content about Peace in the Park, to distribute through their network / database.
* Oversee social media updates as well as working with partners to promote.
* Lead creative out of the box efforts to champion Peace in the Park - i.e. presence at other local festivals, peace events, etc. In the past we had volunteers distribute postcards. What can we do better?
* Cultivate blogger relations / media and PR, in order to raise awareness for the festival. Procure interviews, media coverage about the festival and the founder.
* Support with other team initiatives related to marketing and PR as needed.
* Interest in consciousness, psychology, spirituality, behavioral change, self- improvement all pluses!
Skills & Qualifications
* 3-5 years festival marketing experience
* 3 years of PR & Marketing (all channels) expertise
* Community outreach expertise
* Self Starter / Out of the box thinker
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, cross functional groups and lead with clarity.

We are individuals of all ages and backgrounds who regularly attend classes at more than 8,500 centres of the Brahma Kumaris located in 110 countries.
We study spiritual knowledge that nurtures respect for all faith traditions, coherently explains the nature of soul, God, time, and karma, and delineates an enlightened lifestyle.
We practise and teach a form of meditation that relaxes the mind and nurtures a healthy balance between our inner and outer worlds. Through numerous social service activities and partnerships, we promote spiritual understanding, leadership with integrity and elevated actions towards a better world.
