We are looking for volunteers to potentially help with one or more programs
Gardening or Landscaping: We are developing an heirloom vegetable garden as well as a butterfly garden and can also always use help maintaining our existing landscape.
Docent: Learn about Florida's fascinating maritime heritage and share it with visitors to the museum or help with educational outreach programs.
Special Events: Help before and after an event with setup/breakdown and assistance during an event.
Class Assistance: Did you know we opened a Folk School? We need help before, during, and after classes as setup/breakdown support and classroom assistants for select classes.

About Florida Maritime Museum
Location:
4415 119th Street West, Cortez, FL 34215, US
Mission Statement
To preserve and share Florida's maritime heritage.
Description
Come aboard as we undertake a voyage in time and tradition. Our port of call is somewhere in the past, but the harbor is a modern museum facility housed in the restored historic 1912 Schoolhouse located in historic Cortez fishing village. Here you will find, displayed for your delight, pieces of the almost forgotten past. At the Florida Maritime Museum you will find the Banks Shell collection, ship models, historic boats, and a butterfly garden. Families and community members will have the opportunity to take classes and learn traditional skills.
