Cob Collective Natural Building & Gardening
"Building Sustainable Natural Living Communities"
We will also have ongoing blogger, artists, and fundraiser positions.
VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS
50 HEAVY LIFTERS- You will move large stones, dig trenches, lay foundations, cut lumber, move large items, carry buckets of clay, sand, and water.
100 MIXERS- Mix Cob, apply cob to walls, and teach others how to mix cob in the community. Invite other friends to help in the process via social media, MEET UPS, and small collective work parties.
25 PHOTOGRAPHERS- You will take pictures of the happenings at the collective during classes, workshops, and field trips. You will also edit and upload to various social media and websites.
25 FILMAKERS- Document the progression of our projects. Upload videos to youtube, edit video, produce small series of the everyday life at the collective.
50 BLOGGERS- Talk about us interview our participants, interview volunteers and people in poverty.
25 ARTISTS- Carve and sculpt with natural building materials.
25 FUNDRAISERS- Hold fundraising events, obtain sponsorships from local businesses groups, and organizations.

Our non profit is building a series of homes out of natural materials and growing organic food at 4 locations in Greensboro.
COB is an ancient and sustainable building method.
YOU Will GET MESSY!!!! MIXERS please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged. We will train you how to mix cob.
FUNDRAISERS we expect you to be neat and professional. You will have to complete a training beforehand
YOU WILL LEARN!!!!
WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICE LEARNING HOURS AND CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION FOR A NUMBER OF OUR TRAININGS.

We prefer large groups but sincerely appreciate individuals. The collective efforts of building stronger sustainable communities enable us all to operate effectively and efficiently. Mission Statement
Volunteer In Your Community Inc.'s (Greensboro NC Branch's) mission is to raise awareness about poverty in our neighborhoods and communities in around Greensboro North Carolina. We want to enhance the lives of the impoverished people and introduce them to a network of resources that address the specifics to why they are living in poverty and help provide what they need in order to become stable.
Description
We provide opportunities for the citizens to become actively involved with providing assistance to help the impoverished people in our communities. We help people in poverty and the homeless, to establish a strong foundation that will lead to financial independence. We focus on the youth, and their parents, as well as men and women in the community. We encourage education and dedication while connecting people to the resources that are readily available in their communities. In the past, present and future, we have devoted and will continue to devote our time at local schools and at other non-profit organizations in the community.
