Help the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library sell books! Well sell books 1) to generate funding for essential library programs and services AND 2) to expand literacy by putting affordable books back into our community!

We receive hundreds to thousands of donated books every week and we need YOUR help to process all of them! How?

Receiving
o Help process new donations and get them ready for online or in warehouse sales
Listing
o Using a PC with a bar code scanner to scan books to be listed for online sale
o Some limited typing may be required
Online Order Fulfillment
o Help process books that have sold online; pull, package and prepare them for delivery to the
Post Office
Sort
o Sort and shelf books by genre, subject, author for general collection, warehouse sales

Mission Statement

To promote, enhance and expand the presence and services of the library for the benefit of the community.

Description

The Friends have been instrumental in raising millions for the library programs citywide; adding additional books and furnishings for the library's; providing input to public officials to ensure a strong library system; developing nationally recognized Teen Centers; purchasing rare books and Spanish language materials; holding book sales to raise funds and provide low cost books to the public and acting as a conduit between the community and the library system. The Friends of the Phoenix Library was organized in 1977 and has chapters at each Phoenix library branch. We invite volunteers to help in efforts to develop financial resources and programs, create public awareness and serve as advocates for the library system.
