Description
Established in 1969, Strong City Baltimore (formerly Greater Homewood Community Corporation) has a mission to strengthen neighborhoods in Baltimore through improving education, supporting youth development and advancing economic development and community revitalization. Current initiatives include bringing volunteer and community resources into public schools, youth development and leadership, ESOL service coordination, housing and neighborhood revitalization, and public safety. Strong City employs a strategy of brokering partnerships, resources and services within the community as opposed to creating new services. With an emphasis on building social capital, We operates all of our programs by galvanizing a large volunteer base within its own community.
