You remember how hard middle school was, right? Teasing. Gossiping. Bullying. Well, it hasn’t gotten any easier. Did you know that sixty percent of middle school students witness bullying every day and about 85 percent of middle school students say they’ve been cyber bullied at least once? Please help girls in your community learn how to successfully and safely navigate the middle school environment--you can be part of the change to make it better. We are looking for individuals to lead or help lead an flexible 8 week Girl Scout program that will help girls to: Feel safe in school, online, and everywhere in between Build the confidence to deal with mean girls and cliques Develop healthy, positive relationships When a girl is bullied, she feels alone. When a girl sees someone else being bullied, she feels helpless. But you have the power to change that! And don’t worry, we will provide all the training and support you need to make the difference in our middle school girl’s’ lives.

Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons is a non-profit organization that serves more than 12,000 members in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. We are chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), the worlds’ only leadership development organization for girls. We believe that every girl has the potential for success and Girl Scouting helps girls learn positive values, build self confidence and learn real-world leadership skills.
Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons council area includes cities, towns and communities covering more than 164,000 square miles and includes girls on 13 Indian Reservations and 3 Air Force Bases. We have divided our council jurisdiction into four (4) geographic areas that house six (6) offices to serve our members and volunteers. Girl Scouts--Dakota Horizons is headquartered in Sioux Falls, SD.
At Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons, we are developing tomorrow’s leaders through girl-driven programs. Girls create a lifetime of memories and participate in one-of-a-kind programs designed to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.
