We have many volunteer opportunities at the Boone County Conservation District which include:
Prairie Restoration, Heritage Gardens, trail and conservation site cleanups, maintenance, office tasks, mailings, special events and more. We tailor your talents to our needs.
The Boone County Condervation District relies on volunteers to help provide a quality experience to visitors.

To preserve and manage natural areas and open spaces for ecological, educational and recreational benefit for present and future generations.
Description
Formed in 1964 the Boone County Conservation District was the first conservation district in Illinois. Today, the BCCD manages over 3,500 acres of prairies, woodlands and wetlands. These sites are home to a wide variety of diverse flora and fauna.
The Conservation District hosts many annual events such as the Autumn Pioneer Festival, Holiday Walk, Heritage Garden Walk, summer youth camp programs as well as various school groups and a wide array of public programs
